Phonic Assessment 2

Consonant Blends

This test assesses whether your child can cope with four-letter words containing a consonant blend. A consonant blend is when two consonants come together, for example, 'st' or 'bl'. Some consonant blends can be at the beginning or end of words, for example, stop and fist. Some only occur at the beginning, for example, snap. Others occur only at the end, for example, well.

The first list of words has consonant blends at the beginning of each word and the second list has consonant blends at the end.
